This small female spider can be found hanging under eaves and other likewise places. It ranges from the southern US from the east coast to the west coast. I've read that the male is 1% the size of the female and it dies during copulation, two hours later the female discards the male from her nest.

The banded legs are the key to telling this apart from the American House Spider.
