Ocola
Skipper,
Panoquina ocola Size: Wingspan is 1 1/4 to 1 3/8 inches. Similar Species: Little Glassywing and Clouded Skipper. Habitat: Open moist areas, salt marshes and gardens. Abundance: Fairly common in piedmont and sandhills uncommon elsewhere in North Carolina. Flight Period: The first brood is slight July thru August Second and a large brood from September to late October. I can't recall even seeing the first brood. Comments: The top photo was from my garden in Orange Co. North Carolina in August 06, 2002. The second photo was taken in Wake Co., NC on October 04, 2003.
