Broken-dash, Wallengrenia egeremet Size: Wingspan is 1 to 1 1/4 inches. Similar Species: Southern Broken-Dash, Black Dash and Little Glassywing Habitat: Moist woodland edges, moist powerline cuts,damp places and mountain meadows where it`s cooler. Abundance: Rare to uncommon in most of the state. Flight Period: First brood flies from late May until early July. The second brood flies from late July until mid September. Comments:. The top photo was taken in Orange Co., NC on June 15, 2002. The second photo was taken at Duke Gardens in Durham Co., NC on August 17, 2003. The third photo was taken in Granville Co., NC on June 04, 2005. The bottom photo was taken on July 10, 2003 in Westchester Co., NY.
