Size: Wingspan is 1 to 1 1/4 inches.

Similar Species:
Little Glassywing
Northern Broken-dash

Habitat: Damp woodland edges, gardens and powerline cuts.

Abundance: Fairly common statewide and less common in the mountains.

Flight Period:Two broods with some overlap they can be found from early May until early October

Comments:
Notice the plain dark brown look and short antennal club also sometimes you can see it`s golden head in good light.

The top Dun Skipper was found in Durham Co., NC on July 17, 2004. The second and bottom photos were taken in Orange Co., NC on May 31, 2004.
