Size: Large to about 3 inches.

Habitat: Along woodland edges and openings. Mainly later in the season along lakes and streams cruising for insects.

Flight Period: Mid March until May

Comments: This is a really impressive dragonfly up close once it matures finding it perched is a real trick.

These photos were taken in my yard in Orange County during April 1999.
