Size:
Large to about 3 inches.

Habitat: Along woodland edges and openings.

Flight Period: Mid March until mid April.

Comments: Usually the first larger dragonfly you`ll see in the spring. Can at times be somewhat tame compared to other darners.

The above photo was taken along a powerline clearing in Orange County on March 1999. The photo at right was taken in my yard on March 17, 2000 in Orange County.
