Size: 3.3 inches.

Habitat: Open areas around forests or fields. Hunts commonly along roads and trails.

Flight Period: June - September

Similar Species: None. This is a very large clubtail, the size alone helps with ID.

Comments: This Dragonhunter was my first one. I found it on June 29 2001 in the Caswell Gamelands in Caswell County, NC. The next day I was in the mountains traveling along gravel roads near the valleys and saw 4 Dragonhunters. This ode will perch on the road and the large size and act of perching on the road gives it away to be a Dragonhunter.
