Diminutive Clubtail,
Gomphus diminutus





Size: 1.7 inches.

Habitat: Found in fields or edges near lakes and bogs with sphagnum moss edges. Found only in the sandhills of the Carolinas.

Flight Period: Early April - late May

Similar Species: Lancet Clubtail or Ashy Clubtail

Comments: These clubtails have longer abdomen segments on S7 and S9 than S8 which as you can see is slightly shorter. Usually found with Lancet Clubtails.
