| I live in Rougemont which is in the northeastern corner of
Orange County. Normally I do work in Carrboro,
Chapel Hill, Durham, Efland, Hillsboro, Mebane, Rougemont and Roxboro. In
these areas I charge a daily trip fee of $40. This covers my time to get
to your job and the expense of driving my Ford E250 van and gas. I think
this is very reasonable. For other locations like Apex, Burlington, Cary, Pittsboro and Raleigh, I can do your job but I need to charge a higher trip fee as it takes me an hour to get there and another hour to return home. A daily trip fee of $70, this just covers my time and covers the expenses of driving my van. |

My rates for my services is usually $35
an hour plus the trip fee mentioned above. Simple repairs taking one hour
costs $75, half day jobs are usually figured at $180 and full day jobs
at $320 in my normal service area. On jobs where the difficulty or expertise
needed is greater then the rate is higher. This includes automatic doors,
plumbing, electrical and high ladder work. I like to bid on larger jobs
this can work to your advantage or my advantage. I tend to be as fair to my customers as possible. Remember I also have to pay for auto, health and liability insurance, do my book keeping, shop for your job supplies and carry a ton of tools to do your job in the best way possible. I might bill you for 8 hours but actually there's more time and money involved in doing your job than you might realize. And most companies work 8-5 you can reach me if you need me in the evening as well. |
