New Great Southern White Stock Photos Page

Size: Wingspan is 2 to 2 1/2 inches.

Similar Species:
Cabbage White

Florida White (in deep south)

Habitat: Coastal areas, dunes, tidal marshes and gardens.

Abundance: Rare or accidental. Found only in coastal areas in the southern part of North Carolina.

Flight Period: Unknown in North Carolina.

Comments: This Great Southern White I found in south Florida at Ding Darling NWR in late December 1998. One thing I noticed about this white is the fact when it perches it`s wings are halfway open like in the photo on right, unlike the Cabbage White.
