In early December of 2004 I spent about 14 days in the Lower Rio Grande
Valley. Visited all the hotspots and even managed to get a first US record
see Thick-tipped Greta (Greta morgane).
I stayed at the Alamo Inn bed and breakfast in Alamo, TX. I highly recommend
staying at the Alamo
Inn, the rates are very reasonable and its a very secure place to
keep all your expensive gear for digital photography. They also have one
of the best nature book shops in the entire region.
