Wingspan is 1 3/8 to 1 7/8 inches.

Similar Species:
Pearl Crescent

Habitat: Wet woodlands, gardens, roadsides and adjacent damp areas.

Abundance: Uncommon to common in the mountains and foothills. Rare in most of the piedmont.

Flight Period: First brood early May until early June. Second brood late June until early September.

Comments: The top photo was taken in the Caswell Gamelands in Caswell Co., NC on May 17, 2005.
