Size: Wingspan is 3/4 to 1 inch.

Similar Species: None in North Carolina.

Habitat: Varied can be found about anywhere.

Abundance: Common in most of the state. More common in coastal regions

Flight Period: The first brood flies from late March until mid June. The second brood flies from early July until late October.

Comments:

The top and center photos were taken in Franklin Co., NC on April 24, 2002. The bottom photo was taken in Scotland Co., NC on April 20,2003 in the Sandhills Gamelands.
