Size: Wingspan is 7/8 to 1 1/4 inch.

Similar Species:
Red-banded Hairstreak

Habitat: Varied can be found about anywhere. It enjoys sunny dry places.

Abundance: Common in most of the state. More common in coastal regions.

Flight Period: Flies from late March until late October. Three broods seem to run together.

Comments:
Gray Hairstreak is usually very common during most of the season.
