Size: Wingspan is 7/8 to 1 1/8 inch.

Similar Species:
Brown Elfin

Henry`s Elfin

Habitat: Restricted to areas with lupines (lupinus sp.) in longleaf pine and scrub oaks in the sandhills.

Abundance: Rare to very rare. Not much is known about these elfins perhaps they are overlooked.

Flight Period: Flies from mid April until mid May.

The bottom photo is a Lupine host plant.
