Size: Wingspan is 2 1/4 to 2 3/4 inches.

Similar Species:
Clouded Sulphur
Orange Sulphur

Habitat: Open areas, brushy fields, roadsides and weedy pastures

Abundance: Very rare in North Carolina.

Flight Period: Late summer migrant

Comments: The photos here are from along the Ohio River in Clermont County Ohio (east of Cincinnati) on September 01, 2002. This rare migrant just appeared in front of my camera as I was shooting other Colias species.
