Size: Wingspan is 1 3/8 to 1 7/8 inches.

Similar Species:
Carolina Satyr

Viola`s Wood Satyr

Habitat: upland sites, old fields, woodlands. It likes open woods.

Abundance: Common in most of the state. Less common in the coastal regions.

Flight Period: Flies from mid April until early September, but more common mid May until mid July.

Comments: These are type 1 Little Wood Satyrs they were found in Granville Co., NC on May 28, 2005.
