Size: Wingspan is 1 1/4 to 1 5/8 inches.

Similar Species:
Helicta Satyr
Mitchell`s Satyr (extremely rare)

Habitat: Pine savannas that are open and with short vegetation. Also can be found along powerline clearings next to pine savannas.

Abundance: Uncommon except in coastal plain savannas. Rare in the piedmont if at all.

Flight Period: Flies from early May until late June, then late July until early September.

Comments: These Georgia Satyrs were found in the Craven County portion of Croatan NF on May 25, 2003.They can be quite challenging to get a close look at them.
